Other Gazes

Otras Miradas (Other Gazes) is an exhibition and photography project commissioned by Obra Social Caja Madrid, through Fundación Candelita, with the goal of portraying some of the projects they fund in Madrid. For this purpose, I explored several places where they host workshops and other activities whose goal is the integration of different sectors of the population in the labour, social and economic fields: an after-school cooking workshop for children; another one for fishmongers for the unemployed; a sewing workshop for Muslim women recently arrived in Spain and, finally, a home-help service for elderly people with low income.

Otras Miradas was shown in four different exhibition venues in 2012 with the purpose of raising awareness among people from Madrid about the existence of these social groups and possible forms of promoting processes of integration.
